CAN I GET AWAY WITHOUT FLOOD BARRIERS?

The only two ways to get away with out flood barriers is the to be below the fifty-percent rule or have all openings of the building above the base flood elevation. These are the only ways to get around installing flood barriers to your project.

It has been our experience that the people who try to get away without barriers when they really need them end up in a bad situation at the end of the job. Most municipalities will not even issue a temporary certificate of occupancy with out an active flood barrier permit. Our average time from time of contract to permit takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks to obtain all the engineering necessary for each job.
